WikiSeek Launches

If you're in the market for a powerful and user friendly Help Desk solution, please take a look at my company's flagship product HelpSpot.

WikiSeek the new search engine by the founder of Wikipedia just launched. Seems pretty cool, I’ll probably try it out for a bit, seems pretty good so far. Of course the most important thing is that HelpSpot is #2 in the organic position and #4 overall grin

Bleh, the results for "used cars" and "chimney sweep software" are both pretty horrendous (random Canadian and Irish car sites come up before Auto Trader?). Is there some relation to how often the site is mentioned in Wikipedia?

I don't know. All the sites have to be found someplace in Wikipedia in order to be indexed I believe. It's not clear to me what the actual algorithm is. My guess is that they use Wikipedia as the starting point, but the also look for links in the founds sites to each other.
