Hey, FAME and FORTUNE! I hadn't thought of that angle ![]()
Thanks for the exposure! I'm hoping I can find the right person, and I know you've got a lot of smart readers.

Not sure how big the Python following is, but hopefully it helps. I'm excited to see Zesty get rolling again.

I looked at Python once when working with Zope. Does that qualify me as the right person? Hmm.. I guess not. Good luck finding someone who is willing to take a chance and put all that work up front though. I've been burned every time I entered into a deal like that. Not that Kevin is out to burn another developer. But then I don't believe the guys I have been involved in zero dollar start-ups were out to screw me over either.

Every new business requires putting work in up front, and most new businesses fail. That's the risk. And, that's the risk I've been taking for a while now (and Ian knows the feeling as well!)
The one thing I've got is a good chunk of a product. Enough to make a viable alpha release. So, yes, there's no big startup capital and no pay. But, I've made quite an investment in terms of lost wages/living expenses to get the product to where it currently stands.
It may not be a matter of people being out to screw other people over. More likely, it's a question of looking at the risk/reward ratio and seeing if that meets your tolerance and criteria for a good investment (be it of time or money or whatever).

I don't think there's much chance of that here Collin. Not that you'll get rich, there's no guarantee, but Kevin's been around. He's got a blog so you can see what he's been up to, he's got a book deal. He's not too much of a risk. On top of that he only needs the last 25% or so. He's doesn't need someone to start from scratch just to finish things up and polish it up. I'm also guessing that it could be a part time thing.
