Virtual Windows on the Mac

If you're in the market for a powerful and user friendly Help Desk solution, please take a look at my company's flagship product HelpSpot.

This is almost enough to make me buy a Mac Pro. I’m going to wait for the second generation though, hopefully they’ll be out by the end of the year.

Update: Looks like VMWare is entering this space as well.

Why the word 'This' is not hyperlinked in RSS feed?

And yes, new layout looks great! smile

Thanks JD, I've fixed the link issue.

Thanks for pointing out parallels, I will have to check it out.

Not to be picky, but need to point out that "Virtual Windows" title of this post may be a misnomer. Parallels lets you create virtual _machines_ from one physical machine, yet Windows running on a machine is the real-deal *Wintel* implementation, not to be confused with virtual windows such as "Virtual PC".

I have a first gen MacBook Pro 15" and love it. No problems at all and great performance.

True, I guess I just think of it as virtual though I do understand that it's essentially running natively.

I've also been considering moving back to a laptop for development as well. The MacBook seems powerful enough to handle it.

I've been running parallels for ~1mth on my MBP w/ 2GB RAM. It runs great, and is perfect for those few apps that are windows only. I've actually been doing Java development for work on it as the envioronment we test is was easier to setup on Windows than Mac, but jsut until I got my Linux box working.

There are a few things that bug me (no sound, USB support sketchy and my VPN connection is less than stable somedays) but for the most part it's a really slick piece of software. I installed the latest Beta 2 days ago, but haven't used it yet, so I'm not sure if any of the things that bug me have been shored up, though USB support is suppsoed to be better.
