Jeremy on JotSpot 2.0
If you're in the market for a powerful and user friendly Help Desk solution, please take a look at my company's flagship product HelpSpot.Jeremy thinks if JotSpot stopped calling themselves a wiki they'd do better. I think if they offered a hosted version they'd do better. It's far too powerful a system at this point to only be sold to organizations that have no IT departments and have no data security concerns.
I'd also note that I used to hate the JotSpot idea, but they've really developed it nicely and I think it could be even bigger if they provided a self hosted "enterprise" solution.
Also see Webjillion for more inside scoop.
Discussion
Thanks for the post. We are in beta currently with an "on-premise" version of JotSpot running on top of VMWare. I'd love to get you in the beta if you're interested.

FYI we've got a downloaded (aka self-hosted) wiki server in beta: http://www.jot.com/wiki/wiki-server.php. Same JotSpot, in a single download, install, and run package.

The functionalities they offer are really amazing.
It looks like they offer both a hosted solution (Wiki Hosting) and a downloadable version (Wiki Server): http://www.jot.com/wiki/wiki-deployment.php. I am not sure however if the functionalities are the same.

Ah, very interesting guys. I'd definitely be interested in checking out the beta. I went ahead and signed up.
It seems a bit cheap though for big orgs and expensive for smaller ones. I need one or two license but have to pay the same as someone who has an organization of 25 people?
I can tell you from experience that small organizations want to host their own data as well and would be interested in this with the right pricing structure.
