Big Ideas

If you're in the market for a powerful and user friendly Help Desk solution, please take a look at my company's flagship product HelpSpot.
"As I evaluate new startups these days I’m finding it harder and harder to see the big ideas that will appeal to a large, non-geek consumer audience." - Redeye VC

I couldn't agree more. The problem is they're building products which don't solve problems. They're just "cool". Worse yet is that many of them are simply poor copies of other "cool" sites that had only the thinest purpose to being with.

I agree as well.

I wouldn't mind so much if these "me too" startups weren't consuming available resources (talent, capital, etc.) which makes it harder for those looking to solve real problems. But, such is life. The markets are sometimes favorable only to the "big ideas".

All these talks about Web 2.0 make people lose focus on solving problems. People talk as if having an Ajax interface and provision for tagging makes their product great.
